Markelle Fultz Might Miss The Entire Rest Of This Season

When this Markelle Fultz saga began last season, nobody had any idea how it would end. Heck, we still don't know.

Last we heard, Fultz was seeking answers and treatment after being diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome last month. Since then, it's been nothing but crickets except for the occasional trade rumor here or there.

Now, in a quote by Sixers GM Elton Brand, we don't even know if he'll be returning this season at all.

Brand said it was “to be determined” if Fultz will play again this season.

“I can’t say right now,” Brand said.

Prior to the injury, Fultz was averaging 8.2 points per game for the 76ers before losing his starting spot to JJ Redick in November. To say his career has gotten off to a rough start would be putting it lightly.

Last season (his rookie campaign), he missed almost all of the games for the same shooting problems. Since then, his name has either been in trade rumors or associated as a bust. No doubt, all of this must be hard for the struggling youngster.

His best option now would be a fresh start in a new team, but that's obviously wishful thinking. He'll have to prove he's healthy before the Sixers can get any value from in a trade. Also, he'll have to prove he can make a jump shot without the world going crazy about it.

It'll be a long road for Markelle, one that nobody saw coming when he was drafted 1st overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
