Michael Jordan Asked In 1996 On How He Wants To Be Remembered: 'A Fun Guy'

Michael Jordan is a complete character. The greatest player of all time is well remembered for the things he did on the court, but given his legend and all the things he said, watching MJ talking is always interesting.

During his playing days, Jordan said a lot of interesting things. We recently saw what he said about load management during his prime and now we’ve learned that he could serve as an inspiration for Kawhi Leonard.

Back in 1996, the NBA Hall of Famer was asked how he wanted to be remembered when his career was over. Michael’s response was short and precise, stating he’d like to be remembered as a ‘fun guy’.

“Just a fun guy who enjoyed life, who was a part of a lot of fun things. Who was always approachable, I never felt like I was isolated from normal people. People who are successful tend to isolate and people are afraid to come and say something. I love when people come up and say hello or they like something that I have done. It’s so simple.”

It’s interesting to see how those words aged, as not everybody believes Jordan and fun go together in the same sentence. Still, others think the opposite about MJ and that’s how it is. Not everybody can love you and Jordan is the biggest sample of that.
