Mike D'Antoni Says He'd Remove The Warriors From The League If He Could Make One NBA Rule Change

Publish date:

There seems to be a budding rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets after last year's Western Conference Finals, and Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni has poked fun at that rivalry on a recent episode of Open Court on NBATV.

D'Antoni, sat next to fellow NBA head coaches Igor Kokoškov and Steve Kerr of all people, was asked if he could change or eliminate any NBA rule, what would it be? D'Antoni, being the joker that he is, came up with this response.

"California wouldn't be part of the league...especially the northern part"

If you didn't know, the Golden State Warriors reside in San Francisco, which happens to be towards the northern part of California, meaning if D'Antoni could change anything about the NBA, he'd get rid of the Warriors, Kings, Clippers, and Lakers, which would, in theory, give the Houston Rockets a wide-open path to the NBA Finals.

Pretty smart if you ask us.
