Mother Of Former Sixers Player Issues Warning About Markelle Fultz

In a chat on The Burner podcast, mother of former 76ers big man Richaun Holmes spoke about her and her son's time in Philly, describing the changes between Sam Hinkie and Bryan Colangelo, why Holmes didn't get much playing time with Embiid and Simmons, and some of the folks within the organization she enjoyed hanging out with the most.

Among those interesting bits of dialogue from Dr. Lydecia Holmeswas this statement regarding second-year player Markelle Fultz:

“Markelle is going to be very, very surprising this season. You’re going to be very pleased with Markelle. He is going to show you something this year…on and off the court. [I have seen his jumpshot]. He’s going to be something to reckon with”

Fultz has received a ton of negative criticism recently, mostly due to his slow player development. After an injury-ravaged rookie campaign in which he shot poorly, the team shut him down, only for it to be leaked that the guy literally forgot how to shoot.

Without him, the Sixers reached the second round of the Eastern Playoffs, where they got bounced by the Celtics in 5.

If he proves everyone wrong and comes back the player we all thought he could be coming out of college, Philly could be primed for a serious post-season run. We'll see soon enough just how accurate Dr. Holes' warning really is.
