With the era of "superteams" now over, the NBA is experiencing a level of parity they haven't seen in at least 10 years. Still, some familiar faces are leading the way in the West, including the Lakers and Warriors -- who have almost become rivals in the past several seasons.

According to Mychal Thompson, their dominance will pour over into the postseason, where he predicts the two sides will meet in the Conference Finals.

Mychal is naturally biased because of his connection to his son Klay, who has played and dominated with the Warriors for years. But Dub Nation may not actually be that much worse off this season, if not for the return of the Splash Bros, then for the addition of D'Angelo Russell.

As for the Lakers, the injury bug has already hit them hard with DeMarcus Cousins, and it will be a challenge for them to fit all of their pieces together in time for the postseason. Nonetheless, with the duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, it wouldn't be wise to count them out.

It will be interesting to see if Mr. Thompson's prediction comes to fruition, or if another team will change the status quo.
