In the wake of this global pandemic, nobody is really sure of what to do. With schools, businesses, and sports leagues shut down, we have been given more time to think.
For one Reddit user, his thoughts led him down a rabbit trail, of sorts. In a post, user u/matrixreloaded shared this scenario with NBA fans that went viral:
You have 82 games to score 20 total points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds all season. If you succeed you win a 5 year $250 million dollar contract with said NBA team. If you fail, you die. Do you accept this challenge?
In the post, he also gave some stipulations.
You get 20 guaranteed minutes a game.
Nobody knows that you die if you don’t achieve these goals.
You’re treated like any other player in the league, if you suck donkey dick you might not get passed the ball much, but you still get your 20 minutes a game.
The NBA team you’re on won’t purposefully avoid you having the ball, or vice versa for the sake of these goals.
To take a normal, everyday person and plug them into the NBA is something that has never been done -- for obvious reasons. Not anyone can just play basketball at that high of a level and to even score once would be extremely difficult.
But over the course of 82 games, to drop 20, 10, and 5 just once seems possible, right? I guess it depends on who you ask.
For the risk of "death," however, it might be best not to try.
Spencer Dinwiddie also shares his opinion about this challenge.
