Anthony Davis On Avoiding The Play-In Tournament- "This Is The First Time Since I've Been Here That We Ran Into A Challenge."

The Los Angeles Lakers captured a much-needed win against the San Antonio Spurs, edging them out 114-106. There's no doubt that they have been inconsistent to start the season, but the Los Angeles Lakers managed to get the job done today

A player that played a particularly big part in their win is superstar big man Anthony Davis, who put up 34 points and 15 rebounds in the win while shooting 2-3 from the 3PT range. Davis was shooting a career-low 14.8% from 3 going into the contest against the Spurs, and that was the worst percentage ever among players with 2 or more attempts. It was good to see the big man bounce back in terms of his outside shooting, though he did a large portion of his damage from inside the arc.

Many Lakers fans were excited to see the big man perform well, and a lot of them responded below the Lakers' post-game Twitter post about his performance.

The Los Angeles Lakers will need more of that from Anthony Davis, especially during LeBron James' absence with an abdominal strain. While it is understandable that the Los Angeles Lakers may drop more games than they should due to James' injury, they still have enough talent to stay afloat and have a winning record.

Hopefully, the Los Angeles Lakers can build on this performance. When the game got tight in the 4th quarter, they still managed to maintain their composure and close out the young San Antonio Spurs.

Anthony Davis has previously stated that he's ready to lead the Lakers, and this performance is a great step towards achieving that goal. The team needs him to be his dominant self and be aggressive, and that's exactly what he did today. Perhaps this will continue in future games.
