NBA Fans Respond After Derrick Rose Receives First-Place MVP Vote

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has officially been crowned the NBA's MVP -- and for good reason. The guy has earned it with an amazing performance all season long.

Crazily enough, however, it was not Jokic who took over Twitter on Tuesday night. Rather, it was another 2021 MVP vote-getter: Derrick Rose.

The guy hasn't been a true MVP-caliber player in some time now, but apparently his performance with the Knicks this past season was enough to convince one fan he was worthy of MVP honors for the second time in his career.

According to the final ballot, Derrick Rose received one first-place vote for MVP.

Derrick Rose is a great player with a great comeback story, but to say he is this year's MVP might be a bit of a stretch.

Still, it didn't stop the Twitter world from having some fun with it...

Some have speculated that perhaps the voter confused the MVP ballot for the Sixth Man of the Year ballot. Others think it was just a troll attempt by an immature fan.

Whatever the case, it didn't impact the winner in any way, so it's not that big of a deal.

And while Rose is definitely not the NBA's 2021 MVP, he is definitely among the most valuable players on the Knicks. His scoring and leadership in the playoffs helped the Knicks stay within striking distance of their foes in Atlanta.

Going forward, many questions still remain about the 3x All-Star. Will he be back in New York next year? Was this his last time getting an MVP vote? No matter your opinion on the man, he's not yet done writing his story.
