Daryl Morey has never been one to shy away from making the big moves. This summer, for example, he traded away CP3 (a feat many thought impossible) for the ball-dominant Russell Westbrook.
And while the Rockets haven't exactly stunk up the joint, it's clear that even that move wasn't enough to take Houston over the edge.
So, with the trade deadline nearing, and the Rockets 5th in the conference, it seems inevitable that Morey will continue to look for ways to improve. Andre Iguodala has been a name continually mentioned in rumors lately, and the Rockets have had a serious connection to him since the beginning.
According to Paolo Uggetti of The Ringer, an Iguodala trade could be everything the franchise has been looking for.
“Iguodala might spend most of his Houston nights dreaming of the good ol’ days next to Steph more likely than not, but it’s evident he could boost this Rockets’ team chances and put them in the same tier as the Clippers and Lakers (if they’re not already there). Narratives aside, Houston will gladly take a title even if it means having Iguodala help it get there.”
Iggy would add wing depth and (more importantly) defensive talent to the roster.
At 35-years-old, his experience and veteran leadership will be invaluable to this Houston team. For his career, Andre is averaging 12 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on 46% shooting.
