The Heat have been connected to Bradley Beal for weeks now. With an increasing doubt that he will accept the max-extension offered to him by the Wizards, Miami has taken a special interest in possibly acquiring the 2x All-Star.
Barry Jackson recently confirmed those feelings as mutual in an article by the Miami Herald:
Agent Mark Bartelstein (who is not the aforementioned associate) said Wednesday there is “nothing new” regarding whether Beal has made a decision.
But if Beal decides to move on from Washington and become a free agent in 2021, the associate — who requested anonymity because he’s not authorized to speak on Beal’s behalf — said he expects the Heat to receive serious consideration.
After acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Sixers this past offseason, Miami is working their way towards title contention. Though they'd still have a ways to go, adding a guy like Bradley Beal would move them up a rung in the Eastern Conference.
No decision has been made yet as to the nature of Beal's future with the Wizards. But it seems, at the very least, he is considering a move. In Miami, he would get the chance to shine in one of the NBA's biggest markets.
