10x All-Star Carmelo Anthony has not yet made his way back onto an NBA roster. Following a denial by Team USA, the former scoring champ has struggled to find a path to the league.
Interestingly enough, however, one of Anthony's former teams may have just shown interest in re-signing the 35-year-old star.
It was pointed out that the Knicks invited Hasheem Thabeet to the scrimmage because they actually have a real interest in signing him. Do they hold those same feelings towards Anthony?
With no stars on the roster and nothing to really play for this season, bringing on Melo couldn't hurt. Anthony has a long 6 1/2 year history with the franchise and, although they have nothing to show for it, he was their face for years.
At 35, there is only so much he could do to really help the team win. Instead, Carmelo would help sell tickets and spread excitement for a team that wouldn't otherwise be all that exciting.
Plus, he's good for a bucket every now and then.
