The Milwaukee Bucks were among the most competitive teams in the East last season, making it all the way to the Conference Finals before being knocked by the Raptors, who went on to win the NBA Championship.
This season, with mostly the same roster, the Bucks are hoping to take their success a step further.
Chris Paul, who was traded from the Rockets this past summer, apparently wanted to be a part of that journey.
“I had heard he wanted to go to Milwaukee,” said Ryen Russillo on The Woj Pod. “Of course you’d want to go play with Giannis.”
Behind Giannis and a plethora of shooters, Paul would have thrived and might have won a ring if things went according to their potential.
Nevertheless, CP3 is enjoying his time in Oklahoma City, even if it wasn't his first choice.
“I’m excited,” Paul told SLAM after joining the Thunder. “It’s funny because a lot of people try to tell your truth, try to tell your story, say what you want and a lot of different kind of stuff. I’m excited about the opportunity, excited about our team and excited about Billy (Donovan).”
With the Thunder, Paul gets the chance to play with no expectations and mentor young guys who are eager and ready to win.
Only time will tell how long his tenure there lasts.
