NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose Is Open To Return To Chicago

It is easy to forget, especially after all that has happened, but The Windy City is where it all started for Derrick Rose. It's his home, and it is the place where he forged his basketball legacy.

Since his ACL tear in 2012, Rose only played a combined 127 out of 246 games in three seasons.

We went to New York, and then to Cleveland until he arrived in Minnesota, where another injury has once again sidelined his season.

Still, the former MVP had a monster year, and likely would have been considered for multiple awards had he stayed healthy. But this has many wondering what might be next for the Chicago native. If not a return to Minnesota, where might he be headed this offseason?

In an appearance on 670 AM The Score, his agent BJ Armstrong hinted that Rose might be eyeballing a return to the Bulls.

"I think we're going to look at everything, we want to look at the situation," Armstrong said. "There isn't a situation we would not look at because Derrick is still a very capable player. We'll see what the Bulls have.

"There's no secret, there's no doubt that in his heart, Chicago will always be there. We'll see. I don't know what the Bulls are going to do at this particular time … If it presented itself, we'd be open to that conversation."

Rose's fit with the current Chicago roster is questionable at best. The team might not be keen on the 30-year-old Rose taking away minutes from their young stars. The youth movement is Minnesota's priority, after all.

But the window is definitely open, and we shouldn't ignore the possibility of a homecoming for the Windy City Assassin.
