The NBA Draft has come and gone, meaning NBA free agency is just around the corner. This summer, more than most, there are a whole host of stars willing to listen and consider a move from their current franchises.
Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard is one of them, and there isn't a team on planet earth who would not want him.
Rumor has it that the 3x All-Star is considering two teams this summer: the Raptors and Clippers. But even as they continue their pursuits of Kawhi, another team could be entering the fold, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
“I’m told that Leonard may very well take visits in free agency, or meetings at least,” said Woj. “With the Knicks, the 76ers, and possibly even the Nets, in addition to the Clippers.”
The Sixers have a number of decisions to make about their own players before they can acquire Kawhi. They are capped out right now, but if they let both Jimmy Butler, JJ Reddick, and Tobias Harris walk, they might make things work for Leonard.
He will join Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, likely making them the favorites in the East. It is a long-shot scenario, but one that is no longer out of the question for the city of brotherly love.
