On the aftermath of their Game 1 victory over the Warriors in the NBA Finals, the Toronto Raptors are getting another dosage of good news -- to some, even better than the first.
According to True Hoop source David B. Thorpe, Kawhi Leonard may have already decided he is heading back to Toronto, even if it's only for a few more seasons.
Most around the league will tell you Kahwi is Clipper-bound this summer. That is home to him, and the franchise has done well making the best with what they have.
The Raptors pose an especially unique situation for Leonard. Not only can become the ambassador/star of an entire country, but he can do so while competing for a Championship year after year. Plus, if he signs a short-term deal, it allows him to return to L.A. later in his career when he is still in his prime-- maybe when LeBron James leaves the Lakers?
Either way, the Kawhi chase just got a whole lot more interesting. How will the Raptors winning (or losing) the Finals impact his decision come July? Or has it already been made?
