The Los Angeles Lakers just made their first move of the offseason by trading Danny Green, and the No. 28 pick for talented scoring guard Dennis Schroder.
As fans come to grips with the deal, and what it may mean for both teams going forward, the Lakers are apparently considering another move -- this time for a sharpshooting veteran.
According to Stein, the Lakers are also expecting to lose their best point guard, Rajon Rondo, in free agency this offseason.
It's anyone's guess how LA's roster will shape up by the time it's all said and done, but going after Matthews is a pretty smart move for Rob Pelinka. Last season, in Milwaukee, he was crucial in helping them secure the top seed, averaging 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 39.6% shooting.
In LA, he should thrive next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But it will be up to the Lakers to secure his arrival in free agency.
