NBA Rumors: Luke Walton Could Coach UCLA If Fired By Lakers

Luke Walton

Luke Walton's job has been in question since the minute LeBron James joined the club.

With the King's arrival came heightened expectations, expectations that Walton wasn't prepared for. Once the season started, the narrative of his firing only continued, as the Lakers struggled to be the team LeBron needed them to be.

Now, with about a month to go until season's end, Walton's job is all but ended at this point. The team has been abysmal of late, with their playoff hopes quickly dissipating with every loss.

With the end in sight, Walton may already have his next gig lined up.

According to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, the college realm awaits.

Because Luke's father Bill pulling the strings, Luke would have an almost guaranteed job at UCLA. Former head coach Steve Alford was fired as UCLA’s coach in his sixth season, leaving plenty of room for Walton as a replacement.

So, as Walton finishes out what is likely his last season with the Lakers, don't expect to see the last of him in Los Angeles.
