NBA Rumors: Miami Heat 'Would Love To Get' Patrick Beverley

Nearly a week ago, the Miami Heat were taken out of the 2022 NBA playoffs after the Boston Celtics pulled off a Game 7 win over the Floridian team at FTX Arena. Just when people thought nothing could stop the Heat from reaching the NBA Finals for the second time in the last three seasons, the C's told otherwise.

Now, the offseason starts for them, and they are already working to assemble a good team ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. The Heat have been linked with many players in recent times and that won't be changing anytime soon.

For instance, one anonymous executive told Sean Deveney of Heavy that they 'would love' to acquire Patrick Beverley's services. Bev just finished a season where he helped the Minnesota Timberwolves to the first round of the playoffs, where Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies eliminated them:

“The Heat would love to get Patrick Beverley. The Timberwolves, obviously, they love what he brought last year, but if they could sell high, they might be willing to give him up. They have a new regime [ex-Nuggets president Tim Connelly] there, so they can look at things a little more realistically.”

Seeing how intense and annoying Beverley can be on and off the court, he could be a terrific addition to the Heat. Miami keeps adding 'dogs' after signing PJ Tucker last season. Perhaps adding Beverley to that Heat culture could be a great move for them.

He's trying to win a ring and Miami is a team that presents a big opportunity to do so. Bev could get along pretty well with Jimmy Butler, the aforementioned Tucker, Udonis Haslem if he returns for another season, and the rest of the players the Heat have right now.

Beverley has been heavily criticized for his performances on the court and his words off the court, but the Heat aren't paying too much attention to that. This could be a good addition, but we have to wait and see if he keeps playing in Minny or goes to South Beach.
