Anthony Edwards and Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons is one of the best point guards in the league when he's actually on the court. He's a fantastic defensive player and playmaker. However, Simmons has not yet suited up for the season, and it seems as though he's awaiting a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers

One of the teams that were reported as being interested in a Ben Simmons trade is the Minnesota Timberwolves. There's no question that Ben Simmons would be a good fit on the team, as he'd be able to shore things up for them on the defensive end while having enough spacing on the offensive end for his scoring to thrive.

It has recently been revealed by Brian Windhorst that the Minnesota Timberwolves have tried every possible way to get Ben Simmons without giving up Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. It is clear that the Timberwolves do not want to part with either of those two players.

“From what I understand, the Wolves have pretty much offered every asset package they could possibly offer for Ben Simmons, except for Anthony Edwards and Karl Towns”

We'll see if the Minnesota Timberwolves will be able to acquire Ben Simmons. The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly want a Damian Lillard or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander level player in any Ben Simmons trade, but the Minnesota Timberwolves don't have that level of player to offer up beyond Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. It was also reported that Ben Simmons may end up being traded in a multi-team trade involving the Sacramento Kings, the Houston Rockets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves, so perhaps that is the way the Timberwolves can get him.

The Minnesota Timberwolves definitely could use a player of Ben Simmons' caliber, as they are 9th in the Western Conference. Hopefully, we see them get better over the second half of the season, and Ben Simmons could help them make their first postseason for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
