Through four games this season, Chris Paul has been a shell of his former self. Down from his career averages, CP3 is putting up 14.8 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on 43% shooting. Father Time, it seems, has finally caught up with the 9x All-Star.
Still, Oklahoma may not be his last stop, according to Mark Medina of USA Today. The Thunder are apparently itching to trade the veteran star, but teams are reluctant to acquire him.
At 34-years-old, Paul is not a player that fits OKC's long-term plan. As a part of the Westbrook deal, it always seemed as if Paul was destined to be moved again.
As for what kind of teams might step up, that remains to be seen. His age, regression, and contract make him one of the hardest players in the league to move. But with a fresh start in the right environment, he could thrive. The Timberwolves, Mavs, and Heat have been named as the most likely contenders for the 8x All-NBA star.
