NBA Rumors: Top 5 Best Destinations For Carmelo Anthony

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

Carmelo Anthony is arguably one of the most underrated players of his generation. He’s always been a light out scorer that could light it up on a nightly basis, but his lack of playoff success has put a huge question mark over his head.

Several people have questioned his leadership, and the fact that he’s reluctant to embrace a lesser role off the bench makes everybody believe that his ego is one of the main reasons why he’s never been able to succeed.

Furthermore, he was flat out horrible for the Oklahoma City Thunder, stopping the offensive flow of the game and bricking shot after shot, and he’s a lock to be bought out or even waived any time soon.

Even so, Carmelo could still be a very productive player should he focus on helping his team rather than just piling stats, and today, we’ll let you know about the top 5 destinations for him for this season.

5. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are pretty much stacked with youth right now but lack the kind of veteran leadership to help their youngsters round up and develop their game, and that’s where he could come handy.

Naturally, taking away shots from LaVine and Markkanen won’t help them grow as players, but the Bulls are in desperate need for a wing and are a borderline playoff team in the East even without him, so adding the sharpshooter may be exactly what they need.

4. Miami Heat

Erik Spoelstra has always made the most out of misfits and bring the best out of his players, and considering Pat Riley has always demanded top-notch effort from his players, maybe Melo could get in the best shape of his career should he decide to join the Heat.

Carmelo could even start for the Heat or lead the second unit next to Dwyane Wade, and even though they’re not Championship contenders, they could easily make it back to the playoffs upon Melo’s arrival.

3. Houston Rockets

Carmelo has been closely linked with a move to the Houston Rockets ever since last season, but that was mostly when everybody thought LeBron James would also hop on board to join forces with Paul and Harden.

The Rockets are a slightly better team than most and maybe he’d have a huge shot at the Championship by joining Mike D’Antoni’s team, but he’d have to be aware of the fact that he’s going to have to share the rock and not hog shot after shot.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

Now that LeBron James has decided to join the Los Angeles Lakers, the team has instantly gone back to Championship contention, but they still need a lot of firepowers to try and catch up with the Golden State Warriors.

With Carmelo on board, the Lakers could have Rondo, Hart, Melo, Wagner and Zubac off the bench, a very balanced lineup that could help ease some pressure off the starters’ shoulders, not to mention he would really help space the floor when paired with LeBron and Lonzo.

1. Golden State Warriors

And obviously, he could just take the easy way out and join the Golden State Warriors, as there’s absolutely no team in the world that could beat a team with Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green and Cousins.

Golden State has pretty much gave away rings to all guys that have been lucky enough to be able to sign with them, and everybody knows how desperately Carmelo craves a ring, so this would be a no-brainer move for him.
