NBA Rumors: Warriors Are Reluctant To Give Up Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, And James Wiseman In Potential Kevin Durant Trade

The market for Kevin Durant has been narrowed down to a few teams, and the Golden State Warriors are one of them. While Curry did imply that they may not need him, there was a report on Monday from Brian Windhorst that he has not shut down the possibility of acquiring Durant either

If the Warriors were to make a move for KD, they would have to give up a lot of their promising young assets in exchange for the 33-year-old superstar. Most of their younger players like Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody have shown signs of becoming excellent players in their own right. Even James Wiseman, who has struggled to stay healthy, has a lot of upside in the league.

And if they were to try and swing a trade for Durant, then they would have to give up a lot of these pieces as well. They might also have to include Andrew Wiggins, although that is a bit complicated in terms of him being on the same roster as Ben Simmons. However, the latest report from Michael Scotto at HoopsHype suggests that the Warriors are reluctant to do so.

"The Warriors have several young assets on paper, including Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, and Moses Moody, but Golden State would be reluctant to give up all these assets in a Durant trade proposal, HoopsHype has learned. Andrew Wiggins would be an attractive trade chip and is coming off an All-Star season, but he can’t be included in a Durant trade at the moment."

The Warriors have to plan for their future after the likes of Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson start to slow down, and giving up all their young talent might not be the best idea. However, history has proved that going for a championship when you can is better than banking on the future, and Durant would make the team favorites to repeat as champions.
