The Brooklyn Nets were able to capitalize on a series of moves that got them out of the "gutter." For the first time in years, they made the playoffs behind the play of D'Angelo Russell.
Next season, might Brooklyn be capitalizing on a different move?
According to Chris Broussard of Fox Sports, the Nets are adding Anthony Davis to a list of possible targets this summer.
Brooklyn is going as hard after Anthony Davis as anybody. A package of like D'Angelo Russell, Jarrett Allen, who’s a nice piece, shot-blocker, athletic at the rim, nice for this day and age in basketball. They’ve got the 17th and 27th pick. Now, Brooklyn, their dream is to pair AD with Kyrie. They really only want to try to get AD if they got Kyrie, because that will help them keep AD.
Anthony Davis would not only help them secure one star to the team, but it might also help in bringing in another.
With a guy as good as Davis, it would compel other stars to come and join him. It might take a few moves, but the cap would certainly allow it.
As to who that second star might be, well, that is a bit of a Pandora's box. It might be Kyrie, whose name has been linked to Brooklyn for ages. It might be KD, who has been rumored to be leaving the Warriors. Whatever the case, do not expect the Nets to come out empty-handed this summer.
