New Report Hints That DeAndre Jordan Could Be On His Way To The Lakers

DeAndre Jordan

As the Lakers make their run for the postseason, they'll need all the help they can get. Problem is, there aren't many places to look at this point.

With the trade deadline past, and the buyout market rather thin, there's not much the Lakers can do in terms of adding significant talent to their roster.

Although, one name that the team has had on their radar is DeAndre Jordan, and he could become a real possibility if the Knicks buy him out before the March 1st playoff eligibility waiver deadline.

A better fit would be New York Knicks center DeAndre Jordan, who the Lakers are eyeing before the March 1 playoff-eligibility waiver deadline.

The Dallas Mavericks sent Jordan to New York in the Kristaps Porzingis trade. With the 11-47 Knicks focused on (or tanking for) the draft lottery, why wouldn't they let him out of his contract to join a contender?

With their extremely thin depth in the frontcourt, signing Jordan would make a lot of sense for the Lakers. He'd essentially be a better version of JaVale McGee and would come at a cheaper price.

It all depends on what the Knicks are doing. If they want to go all-in on tank mode, letting go of Jordan would set a path directly to his arrival with the Purple and Gold. But if they decide to keep him on, or another team makes him an offer he can't refuse, the Lakers may find themselves left out yet again.
