The Suns big-free agent signing this offseason will probably be Trevor Ariza... which isn't saying much, obviously.
Still, the focus for Phoenix remains the young core, which they've put a lot of effort in assembling. As much as they value their youngsters, though, one recent choice may have created a serious problem for the franchise.
The releasing of Tyler Unis, which happened just a few days ago, could cause a serious rift between Devin Booker and the Suns' front-office. For the Suns, who haven't made the playoffs since 2010, having a player like Booker (who averaged 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists last season), gives them a guy to build the franchise around.
Signing an extension with him would surely go a long way in ending their almost decade long rebuild.
For the Suns sake, let's hope this is something they can work out.
