It's a seven-game series, and one of the most anticipated matchups of the year, but is it already a wrap? Following Boston's 112-90 dominating win over Giannis and the Bucks, Paul Pierce made that claim on live television, picking the Celtics to win in just 5 short games.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, Boston plays off of their defensive weaknesses very well. Using the mid-range game and a pandora's box of scoring talent, it makes for an especially tough matchup for the Bucks. Pierce's prediction rings with an extra layer of truth.
But is it too early to write them off completely? Giannis will perform better next game, and will almost surely make more than 33% of his shots. They were the number one seed for a reason, and it will be interesting to see how they respond.
Though, for many, they find themselves in the same camp as Pierce. Despite an underwhelming season, a culmination of good coaching, experience, a deep roster, and the star power of Kyrie Irving make the team a very real and powerful threat in the East. If you thought they were going to just roll over and play lethargic come playoff time -- well, they are proving that thought wrong.
