PJ Tucker Takes Shot At Rudy Gobert After Winning Defensive Player Of The Year

The long overdue NBA awards show brought its fair share of criticism. Some want to scarp the whole idea of doing an ESPYs style "show," and some just disagree with the timing. But perhaps the most controversial topics were about the awards themselves.

Did Giannis deserve MVP over Harden? Was Lou Williams the rightful sixth man of the year? Was Rudy Gobert the right selection for DPOY?

In regards to the latter, Rockets' veteran PJ Tucker made his dispute with the selection known. Here is what he posted after the NBA crowned Rudy Gobert as the Defensive Player of The Year:

The "if you cry enough" comment is in reference to Gobert's reaction after he failed to make the All-Star team.

Rudy beat out Giannis, Kawhi, Paul George and others for the award. He averaged 15.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game for the 2018-19 season. Those numbers are certainly worthy of recognition, but PJ Tucker (among others) has his doubts...
