For the last few years, the Utah Jazz have been struck in a similar pattern. They perform well in the regular season and clinch a spot in the playoffs. But come playoff time, they fail to live up to the high expectations set by the fans.

Similar was the case this season as they faced off against the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs. Although the series ended in six games in favor of the Mavericks, many believe the Jazz should have won this series.

The biggest reason for that is the fact that Mavs’ biggest superstar Luka Doncic was sidelined in the first 3 games of the series. Despite that, the Mavericks ended up taking a 2-1 lead over the fully healthy Jazz.

In the remaining games, it was the Luka Doncic show as the Mavs easily won the series. Following this defeat, NBA fans are already wondering if it is time to blow up the duo of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. The duo has failed to lead the franchise anywhere over the last few seasons.

While most expected this to happen if the Jazz were eliminated early, what they didn’t expect was the Jazz’s head coach Quin Snyder potentially leaving the team as well. There has been no confirmation of it yet, but considering how Snyder spoke after the last game could be an indication of him potentially coaching his last game for the team.

“I’m incredibly proud of this team. It was a pleasure coaching this group. I’m proud of the way we competed and put ourselves in position to win the game. It just didn’t turn out the way we wanted.”

NBA fans on Twitter instantly started deducing if there was any hidden message in this answer by Snyder. Most of them reached the conclusion that it seems like Snyder won’t be returning to coach the Jazz next season.

Did he sound like a man who expected to be back?

And right there is the problem. No accountability. The same soft bullshit as after every other loss. Have fun coaching the lakers.

Somehow despite of his flaws, i believe he is the main guy who made us believe this team could contend last couple of years. And our talent level were never on par with top teams.

Farewell speech???

It seems like Snyder is likely not returning as head coach next season after failing to lead the Jazz to an acceptable postseason run.

Maybe he will join the Los Angeles Lakers, as many reports suggest. However, at the same time, it has been reported that Snyder is less interested in taking the Lakers job due to how badly the franchise handled the exit of Frank Vogel.

Whatever the future holds for Snyder and the Jazz will be clear after the playoffs are over. One thing is certain though, the Jazz need to make some tough decisions if they want to win anything in the current league.
