Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook are probably two of the biggest competitors in the game. So, when the two faced off in Capital One Arena on Friday, it was no surprise that things got pretty heated.
After going back-and-forth all night, things finally came to a head near the end of the game, when Westbrook was ejected and Rondo was seen sending him off with a goodbye.
The Hawks ended up taking the game (116-100), dropping the Wizards to an NBA-worst 3-12 on the season.
No doubt, the frustration from Russ with how both he and his team have played was on display tonight. After so much optimism and positivity heading into this campaign, it's really a worst-case scenario happening in D.C. right now.
For the Hawks, things are going much better, and Rondo has played his role extremely well.
So, for two competitive guards with a long history together, it's expected that tempers will flare up, especially considering their current situations. It will be interesting to see what happens during their next meeting later this season...
