The era of LeBron is officially over in The Land, and in its wake is a team with no identity, no clear direction for the future, and a struggling bunch of brains in the front office that can't ever keep the ship from sinking.
And, following the departure of head coach Tyronn Lue, things are seemingly getting worse.
Per Shams Charania, firing Lue wasn't just because of poor performance. It also included a disagreement on minutes distribution, with the front office ready to hand the keys to Sexton, Nance, and Osman. With Lue (the only guy willing to give veterans the time of day) now gone, where does that leave them?
Apparently, it leaves them at the edge of the bench, in a Luol Deng-esq state of no playing time. When the front-office announced these plans, some guys were pretty emotional about it.
For guys that were playing in the NBA Finals just a few months ago, to suddenly not even being in the rotation has got to be a tough pill to swallow.
Then again, no part of this upcoming season will be easy for any member of the team.
It just goes to show how much of an impact one player can have on a team.
