Report: The Sixers Are Planning Big Things For The Summer Of 2018

Not even a week after losing to the Boston Celtics in the East Semis, the Philadelphia 76ers are already making it known they have some big plans for the months ahead.

This upcoming summer has been made famous for it’s super-rich Free agent class... with just about every big-market team having enough cap space to offer some big contracts. But when it comes to free-agency, one name will top the list this July: LeBron James.

With the likelihood supposedly higher than its ever been, LeBron may very well be poised for a departure from the Cavs. And while multiple teams will be on his trail, the 76ers in particular are said to be making a hard run at him.

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported the Sixers are "prepared to do whatever it takes" to sign James.

What exactly that means is still a mystery to most. If acquiring LeBron meant they had to somehow give up Embiid or Simmons... would they do it? If it meant firing Brett Brown, would they still meet the demand?

With so many questions regarding Philly’s big summer, we have to wonder how much things will change these next few months. Either way, one thing is for sure: they see their future as one that includes the King. Getting him, though, might cause them to make some serious sacrifices.
