Report: Tyson Chandler To Sign With Lakers Following Buyout From Suns

After tonight’s 114-110 win over the Blazers, Los Angeles has risen to a 4-5 record for the season, with LeBron James doing his usual thing for the team.

As the Lakers continue to improve, they will soon bring in a guy with hopes of making even more improvements.

According to ESPNs Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers are close to adding another Center to their frontcourt.

After clearing waivers on a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns, center Tyson Chandlerplans to sign a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told ESPN.

Chandler, 36, will be a backup to starting center JaVale McGee for the Lakers, who are desperate for an infusion of size and defensive rebounding.

Size and defense has been a challenge for the struggling Lakers this season. And while they’d need a ton more improvements to get at a decent level, defensive specialist Chandler would help add more depth to a rather small big man lineup.

Whether or not it will be enough is something we’ll have to wait on to see, but it will definitely require additional adjustments for this Lakers roster to get moving.

Consider this signing just the latest in a long line of many.
