Rick Barry Says Serge Ibaka Would Be Great For The Warriors: “He Can Shoot The 3, He Can Rebound, Block Shots. That Would Be A Heckuva Addition To This Team.”

The Golden State Warriors are in a great position right now. They're going to have their core of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson back at full strength, plus Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, and the 2nd overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft.

However, even good things could be better, and that's why they're going to look to add another couple of veteran pieces to their core to try and go back to the NBA Finals after missing the playoffs this year.

And, according to Warriors' legend Rick Barry, the Warriors should turn their attention to soon-to-be free agent Serge Ibaka, as he'd be a perfect fit for Steve Kerr's system:

“The guy that I’d like to see them get… it would be unbelievable. I love Serge Ibaka. He can shoot the 3, he can rebound, block shots. That would be a heckuva addition to this team," Barry told NBC Sports Bay Area.

The thing is that the Warriors don't have any cap space to try and make a run at him, as he's likely to draw a lot of interest in free agency, and that's why they'd try and get a cheaper option like Dwight Howard.

As for Barry, he'd welcome any veteran and bonafide player to the team, as he believes that the Dubs would be better off by trading away their pick rather than drafting a player, considering this class isn't exactly stacked with top-tier talents:

“There’s nobody out there (that makes me say), ‘Wow, this guy is gonna be an unbelievable, great NBA player that you can build your team around… I would rather have a veteran guy than a rookie coming into the league when you don’t know what the hell is gonna happen," Barry added.

The Warriors have a nice problem on their hands right now. They're in control of their own destiny and look poised to put together a deadly squad for next season, so yeah, you should never count them out or say that the dynasty is over. The Dubs are here to stay.
