There is no denying that James Harden's reputation has taken a huge hit amid all the controversy surrounding his current situation in Houston.
While his teammates were busy preparing for the new season, Harden was hitting the clubs and working to force his way out of the franchise.
Still, despite it all, the Beard remains one heck of a basketball player. In Saturday night's game against the Blazers, the world was reminded of this fact after Harden dropped 44 points and 17 assists to push his short-handed team to overtime.
After the game, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins went on Twitter to express his most recent view on the Harden trade situation.
“James Harden went 44 points and 17 assists…the Rockets would be some damn fools to trade him for anything less than MVP type player!!!”
While Harden remains adamant about his demand for a trade, it's interesting that the Rockets haven't made a move yet.
No doubt, they want a sizeable package for their superstar, something like some draft picks and young players to stock up for their future. According to Perk, they should be looking for an MVP caliber player -- and nothing less.
Harden, after all, is worth it.
