Russell Westbrook Is In It To Win It For The 2018/19 Season

Russell Westbrook sat down with ESPN, where he described his excitement and expectations for the upcoming NBA season:

“I’m very, very excited,” Westbrook said.

“Paul has been an unbelievable teammate, obviously a great friend. I’m very, very excited that he is back and we’re ready to make some noise.

“We are just going to take it one day at a time. I think our team has a lot of great, young talent. We have one goal now and that is winning a championship.”

It's certainly not much, but Russ seems intent on going all-in this season.

After a rather abysmal 2017/18 campaign, the Thunder got rid of Carmelo Anthony, choosing instead to center their offense on Paul George and Russ. And while they did make a number of other notable moves, you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody willing to give them the benefit of the doubt against teams like the Rockets, Warriors, or even the Lakers. There is room for growth and improvement this year, but they've still got some major question marks.

Either way, they've certainly got a lot of work to do if they are to prove the doubters wrong. Though if anyone is up for the task, it's Westbrook and company.
