San Antonio Spurs Snub Kawhi Leonard On Instagram While Congratulating Their Former Players Who Are In The NBA's Top 75

Kawhi Leonard is already a bonafide legend of the game, having won 2 championships and 2 Finals MVPs already in his career, along with being a perennial All-Star. While Kawhi gained a massive boost to his legacy thanks to his performance in the playoffs with the Toronto Raptors, he first became a household name with the San Antonio Spurs.

Leonard won his first title with San Antonio in 2014, playing incredible defense and winning Finals MVP despite being just 22 years of age, getting a lot of credit for contributing to keeping LeBron James quiet. In the next two seasons, he would go on to win Defensive Player of the Year with the Spurs and looking set to become the next icon after the Big 3 era was coming to an end.

However, it famously didn't work out that way, with Kawhi having several issues with the Spurs organization in the coming years. The way his injuries were being handled irked Kawhi, who ended up leaving on pretty poor terms. And it seems the franchise hasn't forgotten either, with them leaving Kawhi out of their congratulations message to the San Antonio players that have been included in the NBA's Top 75 list.

The Spurs thanked Tim Duncan, David Robinson and George Gervin, all of whom are the biggest legends the franchise has seen in their storied past. Kawhi's achievements with the Spurs may not be as great as those three, but he was still crucial to bringing a title to the organization, something that shouldn't be forgotten so easily.

It's unlikely to bother Leonard too much since he's still playing and currently in rehab from injury. Kawhi is not one to get fazed by things that happen off the court, and he will be focused on ensuring that he can return at the highest level to continue adding to his already Top 75 career.
