Scottie Pippen Announces The Death Of First Son Antron At 33

Scottie Pippen has sadly announced he lost his firstborn son Antron, saying the last goodbye to the 33-year-old on Sunday. The Chicago Bulls legend shared the horrible news on social media, asking people to pray for his late son and his mother.

“I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game,” he wrote. “Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though—Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.”

In a year where people have lost a lot of loved ones, Scottie joins a list that nobody would ever like to join. It's been a rough year for a lot of people around the world and the former forward is another victim of all this bad news.

Antron was born in 1987 to Karen McCollum, who married Pippen in 1988 and separated from him two years later. He was considered a very good prospect by his father and if it wasn't for his condition, Scottie believes he would have made it to the association.

This is terrible news for Scottie, for Mrs. McCollum and the NBA community. You should never go through this but life can be very unfair sometimes. Rest easy, Antron.
