Scottie Pippen: “Anthony Davis Is The Favorite To Win 2020 NBA MVP”

Albeit they are a little bit short of staff, the Los Angeles Lakers’ reality has completely changed after they closed the Anthony Davis trade last weekend. With the arrival of the former University of Kentucky player, the Purple and Gold are now seen as the favorite squad to win the NBA title next year and Davis is seen by many as next year’s NBA MVP Award winner.

Having in consideration that he will share touches with the King LeBron James, Davis has been favored not only by the odds but for NBA analysts, who see the Brow as the eventual biggest responsible of the Lakers’ potential success next season.

Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen has made a stand on this matter, revealing what he thinks of AD ahead of next season and how good he and his new franchise will fare next campaign. During an appearance on ESPN’s The Jump, the six-time NBA winner spoke out his mind on the Lakers’ newest acquisition.

When asked about who he picks as the 2020 NBA MVP, Pippen replied:

“I gotta go with AD. He is a player on LeBron’s team, but is clearly better, probably better than him (LeBron), and I think LeBron is going to forth him now.”

“I see AD really making a huge run. He said a few years ago that he felt like he was the best player in the league, so he’s probably one of the best players in the league so hopefully, he can prove it this season.”

Discussing if LeBron was to pass Davis the torch, Pippen added:

“For me, this is about longevity for LeBron James. You want to play with Anthony Davis as long as you can, so is really about referring, allow him to really take this team on his shoulders. On playoff time I’ll be healthy, I’ll still be ready and we can do this together.”

Davis is expected to make a huge impact to the Lakers game next season; not so many players can the capacity to release pressure off LeBron James shoulders at the time of leading a squad, but AD has proven again and again that he’s not like most. Now, with the opportunity to lead a team that actually can be a contender for the title, the big man is keen to take his game and his team to the next level.
