If anybody knows Kobe Bryant at this point (excluding his family), it's probably Shaq.
The two won three Championships together and were the focal point of a super team before they evidently parted ways in a less than ideal manner.
So, when Shaq says that Kobe "un"retiring would literally be the biggest announcement in sports history, we should probably listen.
Here's the full quote, per "The Big Podcast with Shaq"
"Everybody knows who Kobe is. You mean to tell me Kobe can't give somebody a nice 15-20 minutes a game?" O'Neal said. "... If he came back at 40, the announcement would be the biggest sports announcement in history. The NBA's jersey thing would triple in one day. Everybody would be talking about it.
"He don't even have to play great, just come play 15-20 minutes a game as a Laker - and then if they happen to do well, it would probably be one of the greatest stories in NBA history. And Kobe likes stuff like that, that's all I'm saying."
The chances are obviously low, but O'Neal's quote really speaks volumes to the monumental impact Kobe has on the sports world.
