As the NBA's most prominent franchise, the Los Angeles Lakers have had no shortage of stars walk through their doors. From Wilt, Magic, Kobe, Kareem, and LeBron, many of the game's greatest players have donned the Purple and Gold at some point in their career -- probably the most of any franchise.
Recently, former Laker Shaquille O'Neal posed a question related to that topic on his Instagram, asking his fans which team is better: the All-Time Lakers five or the non-Lakers superteam.
Some agreed with Shaq's assessment that the Lakers squad is better, even going so far as to say they'd win in just four games over a seven-game series.
Others weren't convinced, citing that shooting and the combined powers of Jordan and Hakeem, especially, would be too much for the Lakers team to handle.
The top's biggest strength is size. Kobe is the shortest player on the list with a height of 6-6. They also have two great playmakers in Magic and LeBron, who would make things twice as easy for their teammates.
The non-starters would have trouble in the post against the bigger, stronger Lakers team, but they are far superior on the perimeter. Steph, Jordan, and Bird are all among the greatest shooters in history, and it might just be enough to make up for their shortcomings in the paint, where O'Neal and Kareem would surely dominate.
All-in-all, it's tough to say who is better overall or who would win in a seven-game series. But the fact that this is even a debate shows just how much talent the Lakers have had historically, and it's pretty incredible.
What do you think? between these two clubs, who would you take to win a game, or a series, with the fate of the world on the line?
