James Harden seemed quite keen to move on from the Brooklyn Nets after just about a year with the franchise. Things didn't quite work out as planned for Harden, so it was no surprise that he ended up quite open to a move to the Philadelphia 76ers. Harden trained with his new team for the first time on Monday and it led to some fun pictures of the guard enjoying the introduction to his new team.
One photo of Harden had him looking positively ecstatic, smiling wide with his arms thrown in the air, with Joel Embiid standing and smiling beside him. The Sixers' social media was not going to miss this opportunity and they shared the image on Twitter asking fans to caption the photo. This led to a torrent of responses, with a lot of shade being thrown at Kyrie Irving, whose issues off the court reportedly played a huge part in Harden's wish to leave Brooklyn.
Rob Schubert: "I'm home."
George Hubbard: "What do you guys think about just fouling Ben the entire 4th quarter?”
ShaunFromTKW: "When the entire roster believes the earth is round."
ManateeKing: "So you're telling me everyone will play each game?"
serge: "When you walk into practice and no one is burning sage."
Ravai: "I'm free from the clutches of Kyrie Irving."
JermaineJupiter: "I don't think I've seen James Harden happier."
Marius: "When you find out your teammates can play home and away."
itsjones: "You guys aren't on that burning sage during practice sh*t."
Todney: "Everyone on my new team is vaccinated! Yes!"
Richard Lewis: "Yes!!!! I can depend on somebody else."
Kyrie Irving's famous anti-vaccination stance has seen him be unable to play any home games for Brooklyn. Following Kevin Durant's injury, this led to Harden having to shoulder the entire offensive load, which was named as a reason for his eagerness to move on to another situation. While things are looking mighty positive at the moment, results and performances will be expected now that Harden is joining an MVP candidate in Joel Embiid.
