Skip Bayless Goes Off On LeBron James And The Lakers For Blowing A 20-Point Halftime Lead Against The Pelicans: “Un. Real. LeBron Went Cold, And Couldn’t Close.”

LeBron James

After the Los Angeles Lakers won against the Cleveland Cavaliers, it gave fans some hope for the revival of the team this season. But following that amazing win, the Purple & Gold were easily defeated at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Despite that defeat, the team had a chance to redeem themselves in their most recent fixture against the New Orleans Pelicans. Moreover, with the Pelicans also battling for a play-in spot, a win could have done wonders for the Lakers.

Speaking of the fixture, the Lakers were off to a flying start as they led the game with 20 points at halftime. Unfortunately, it was all downhill for LeBron James and co. after a sensational first-half performance.

Coming out of the locker room, the Pelicans looked like a completely different team as they started to dominate the Lakers. At the end of the game, it was the Pelicans who got a 'W' in the winning column as the scoreline stood at 116-108.

Even more worrying is the fact that LeBron James suffered an ankle injury, which he described as horrible. Hopefully, James will be fine as there are still a few more games left to be played in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Coming back to the game against the Pelicans, NBA analyst Skip Bayless berated the Lakers, particularly LeBron James, for the team's underwhelming performance. Bayless tweeted:

"UN. REAL. LEBRON WENT COLD, COULDN'T CLOSE AND THE FAKERS BLEW A 20-POINT HALFTIME LEAD AND GOT OUTSCORED IN THE 2ND HALF 67-39!!! LESHANNON SHARPE JUST LOST TWO MORE CASES OF DEW TO ME. WILL HE EVEN SHOW UP FOR TOMORROW'S UNDISPUTED???

The inability to close out games has been a constant obstacle in the Lakers' path this season. They have failed to finish the game off after getting a great start several times this season and that's what happened against the Pelicans.

With the regular season almost over, things are not looking good for the 2020 NBA champions. But fans are yet to lose hope in James and in his ability to do miraculous things.
