Slam Studios’ Sarcastic Post About Kyrie Irving: “Kyrie Irving About The Become The Best Part-Time NBA Player Since Elgin Baylor"

Kyrie Irving and his decision not to get vaccinated can and most probably will have an adverse effect on the Brooklyn Nets' hopes of winning an NBA championship this season. The Nets are one of the best teams in the league right now. Credit goes to the superstar trio of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden donning the Nets' uniform.

But if Irving doesn't get vaccinated, the superstar trio could be reduced to a dynamic duo. As revealed earlier by head coach Steve Nash, the team is ready to play without Irving.

Further development has occurred in this situation as it is believed that Kyrie might play as a part-time player for the Nets in the 2021-22 NBA season. The decision is yet to be set in stone with KD, Harden, Joe Tsai, and Sean Marks being the most authoritative figures.

If Irving does play as a part-time player, he will be following the footsteps of NBA legend Elgin Baylor. Baylor only played on weekends during the 1961-62 season due to active military duties. He didn't let that stop him from putting up monster numbers as he averaged 38.3 points, 18.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.

Instagram page Slam Studios posted on Instagram featuring Irving and the post said, "Kyrie is about to become the best part-time NBA player since Elgin Baylor."

The tone of the post seemed a bit sarcastic and NBA fans reacted to it. Here are some of the best comments on the post:

kay.cee.88: "Man's was fighting the country kyrie just fighting invisible ppl."

bebeard2: "One dude, underpaid, took valuable time away from his profession to honorably serve his country, the other, rich beyond measure, is taking time away from his teammates and fans to spread bullshit, easily disproven conspiracy theories. Yeah, totally comparable."

basketballismyreligion: "I mean at least Baylor wanted to keep the citizens safe."

jec112: "Bruh this comparison is disrespectful af. Kyrie has a choice. Elgin didn’t."

mhaggerty16: "Elgin was simply built different."

urafugazi: "Dudes making 100 mill instead of 200 mill because he won’t take a vaccine, he’s eligible to be the most idiotic player in NBA history as well."

_guillermo.14: "Don’t disrespect Elgin by comparing him to a soft diva who just wants attention."

6zoso6: "Yeah the big difference is Elgin had no choice. Kyrie is just being a selfish to try and prove some kind of point."

b.raxton28: "Do not compare these two. Kyrie a bum."

jma4thews: "Don’t you dare compare military service to what kyrie is doing, respect to kyrie in this situation, but this is foul."

Fans were pretty pissed at the page even comparing the two players. Baylor did it to serve in the military. On the other hand, Irving is doing this to avoid getting vaccinated.

Kyrie has been called out numerous times in the last few weeks due to his decision. NBA analyst Malika Andrews put it greatly that being in a pandemic essentially means not only looking at yourself but at others too.

Maybe Irving will come around soon. If he doesn't, he is all set to miss home games in the 2021-22 NBA season.
