Stephen A Smith made it clear that he has not yet spoken to KD or Kawhi on their stance with the Clippers. But rumor has it, they might both be headed to L.A. this summer. Smith spilled the tea on his ESPN morning show "First Take."

The esteemed reporter described the Clippers as "incredibly, incredibly optimistic" about their chances that they'll at least get one, and are feeling pretty good about their chances of landing both. He made it clear: they like their chances over anyone else's.

This first-round against the Warriors proves they have guts and are willing to play hard. Doc Rivers is being considered amongst the top coaching candidates once again as he is pushing the superstar-less Clippers way past their expectations.

Plus, Leonard has been linked to the Clippers for nearly a year now. When he originally requested his trade from the Spurs, he named Los Angeles as one of his most desirable landing spots. Considering all the evidence and speculation, it would be stunning if they were not the leading candidates to sign him this July.

As for Durant, the circumstance on that front is a little murky. if he does leave Golden State, his name has been linked to the Knicks, and he seems likely to give them strong consideration. The Clippers, however, must be making an impression on the 10x All-Star in their current playoff series.

It will be interesting to see how these stories play out when the time comes in a couple of weeks. The feeling is, the Clips are bound to come away with at least one of these two superstars inked to a long-term contract before the start of next season. Luckily for us, we do not have to wait long before we find out for sure.
