The upcoming NBA season is set to be one of the most exciting in history with fans and media keen to see what it’s going to bring. This summer was one to remember because of all the changes that took place around the league and turned the competition into one of the most intriguing in recent history.
With plenty of teams ready to claim the title next year, everybody has a squad they can't wait to see, a specific matchup or even a playoff series.
That was the case with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who described what is the thing he wants to see the most next season, featuring two of the biggest winners of the NBA offseason going against each other for a spot in the biggest series of all. On Monday’s edition of First Take, Smith explained:
“The No. 1 thing I wanna see. I want to see the Lakers versus the Clippers for the Western Conference Finals,” he said. “That’s what I want to see. I want to see Kawhi Leonard and Paul George up against LeBron and Anthony Davis. I wanna see Doc Rivers, I wanna see Jeannie Buss and Pelinka, I wanna see Kobe sitting in the stands, I wanna see Magic in the stands, I wanna see Steve Ballmer going crazy courtside. I wanna see the two teams in L.A. going at each other’s neck tryna take each other out for the right to represent the West in the NBA Finals. To me, that will be the creme de la creme of this season.”
There is no doubt that this upcoming season will bring a lot of things to remember to every NBA fan, and seeing the Lakers and the Clippers going at it in such a transcendental series would be something hard to forget.
Nevertheless, the West and the league are up for grabs and seeing the quality of the teams the association is going to have next season, both Angelenos teams will have a hard way to land in the West Finals.
