Giannis Antetokounmpo sparked a lot of reactions when he sat midcourt during the Milwaukee Bucks' big win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. The Greek Freak led his team to a big win over the 1st team in the East and he enjoyed his moment.
Even Dwight Howard revealed he wanted to attack Giannis for his celebration after he sat on the court while going on a 7-0 run in overtime. In the end, Giannis said he was just trying to have fun but not everybody believed what he said. Added to Embiid, Stephen A. Smith also called out the back-to-back NBA MVP, reminding him how he has spent the last two summers after being eliminated from the playoffs.
“This isn’t the sitting I want to talk about when it comes to the Greek Freak. I want to talk about how Giannis has been sitting at home, on his couch, the last two years in the playoffs when it really, really counted. Far earlier than he was supposed to be, by the way.”
Moreover, he said that Giannis should focus on advancing in the postseason before making fun of anybody, especially when the season is still early. Just like Howard, the ESPN analyst said that this isn't the end for the Sixers or the Bucks.
“If Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t want people to complain about him sitting now, can’t be sitting when it matters most in the postseason. He’s got to handle his business.”
Giannis is a very cool dude and he shows that all the time but this behavior didn't sit well around the league. If he once again fails to succeed in this campaign, the criticism will be big for him, especially after this game.
