The 2020 NBA Finals are set and as Game 1 draws closer, people all around the community have been going public with their predictions and analysis of the series to come.

On ESPN, Stephen A. Smith was among the latest to call the winner of the 2020 Finals, and he went with the team he had picked from the very beginning: the L.A. Lakers.

"Let's not get beside ourselves here. They [the Heat] have got to go up against LeBron James and Anthony Davis. I love Bam Adebayo. He came out here lights out tonight with 32 and 14, a career-high of 32. We saw what Jimmy Butler did in terms of chipping in with 22. We saw Tyler Herro come out and hit a three and ultimately score 19 points. We saw Duncan Robinson be the specialist that he is.

But you're going up against a Los Angeles Lakers squad that does have an elite defense with serviceable parts capable of hitting three-point shots, you've got a guy in Rondo who's also a Champion and has been playing stellar basketball. And then you add to that the best duo in basketball in LeBron James and Anthony Davis -- they're supposed to be the favorites. Miami is not supposed to beat them.

And as far as I'm concerned, the great chance Miami has is that all the odds are stacked against them, and appropriately so, because there's no way in hell they're supposed to beat LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

... when all is said and done, it's supposed to be King James being crowned for the fourth time in his illustrious career."

Obviously, nobody should be dismissing the Heat. If these past few weeks have been proof of anything, it's that they stand a chance against anyone in this league, even the Lakers. The leadership of Jimmy Butler combined with the powers of Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Andre Iguodala have made them quite a formidable foe.

But for this particular series, at this particular time, they're definitely underdogs. To beat this Lakers team would be to do the impossible in the eyes of many.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out...
