Stephen A. Smith Tagged The Wrong Devin Booker On Twitter And He Had An Epic Response: "I Didn’t Know I Was Supposed To Show Up. I Had A Game In Istanbul The Same Day. I’ll Be Ready Next Time."

Stephen A. Smith is one of the most popular television personalities around and he, just like everyone else, was left in shock as he witnessed the Phoenix Suns get annihilated on their home court by the Dallas Mavericks in Game 7 of the Conference Semifinals. Stephen A had picked the Suns to win the series and he couldn't hide his disgust while watching the events unfold during the game.

He tweeted out mid-game that he had never been more wrong and that Chris Paul and Devin Booker did not show up for Game 7. Presumably while still in shock, Smith didn't realize that he actually made a mistake in his tweet:

I have never been more wrong. I can’t believe how great the @dallasmavs look — and how pathetically awful the @Suns look. @CP3 & @DevinBooker31 have been no-shows. I can’t believe this

In his haste, Smith tagged @DevinBooker31, who actually plays for Fenerbahce in the Turkish League instead of @DevinBook. The Booker in Turkey was obviously amused at this mistake and gave an epic response:

"I didn’t know I was supposed to show up. I had a game in Istanbul the same day. I’ll be ready next time"

It led to some giggles and laughs on social media as Smith has messed up like this in the past. This Devin Booker actually played for Clemson from 2009 to 2013, before heading to France to start his professional career. He has made a name for himself in Europe too, having been named to the All-EuroCup First Team in 2018.

For those wondering how he fared in the game in question, Booker had 15 points and 6 rebounds as Fenerbahce won 100-87. He'd be really happy for once to not have been in the shoes of Phoenix's Devin Booker, as the star guard was trolled relentlessly on social media after his trash talk backfired.
