Stephen A. Smith, just like the rest of New York City, is happy to see the New York Knicks finally leaving the bad times behind them and become a competitive team in the Eastern Conference.

After almost a decade of failures, the Knickerbockers are back after they clinched their first winning season since 2013. They've come a long way, missing big opportunities to land free agents like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, as well as not getting the No. 1 that would get them Zion Williamson two years ago.

Well, that hasn't been a problem for the team and they're living a great time right now. After they beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 118-104, the Knicks secured their first season over .500 in the last eight years, something that brought a lot of joy to fans, including the ESPN analyst.

After the match was over, Smith took to Twitter to share his excitement, taking a shot at LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers in the process.

“Top four seed in the Eastern Conference. I’m talking about the New York Knicks who, by the way, got a better record than LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Ya think? What did I tell ya’ll? It’s a new day!”

Stephen A. had a very entertaining Monday and he talked about the Lakers more than once. He predicted the team isn't going to be the Western Conference since LeBron James isn't looking like his old self and that will be a problem for them.

Moreover, he took the chance to celebrate his team and compare the realities between the Lakers and Knicks, showing how proud he is of Tom Thibodeau, Julius Randle, Derrick Rose, RJ Barrett, and the rest of the players that made this possible.

It's a good time to be a Knicks fan but now the challenge will be bigger. Once they make it to the playoffs, things will get harder for them but it's fair to say that the future is very bright for this team.
