It's no secret that the WNBA is not nearly on par with the NBA in terms of popularity. Despite overwhelming efforts to gain viewership and generate interest, the WNBA is just not a very popular thing right now.
But it hasn't stopped its advocates from defending it. And, on Twitter, the Phoenix Suns went so far as to invoke the name of Kobe Bean Bryant to convince a fan why he should care about women's basketball.
The Suns certainly made a fair point there. There was no bigger advocate for women's sports than Kobe and, considering he had four daughters of his own, it's easy to understand why.
As for the constant hate speech directed at women sports and women in general, it needs to stop now. Not caring or paying attention to the WNBA is one thing, but directing hate speech or slander towards it is a completely different story.
Sports should be a place where people of any color or gender are accepted. And there are many women who excel at the top of their sport over both other women and men.
Needless to say, the Suns aren't afraid to fight back at the WNBA haters, and it's exactly what Kobe would want.
